Oyeyemi stated that the suspect was said to have grabbed his daughter around 11:30 pm, raped her and thereafter threatened to kill her if she refuses to allow him.
He stated that the report got to the Police on Sunday and the Divisional Police Officer, Ibara Division, Bernard Egbondiya, detailed detectives to move into the matter. The suspect was then arrested and detained for interrogation.
During interrogation, the father of six confessed to the crime and pleaded for forgiveness, claiming not knowing what came over him when he had sex with his daughter.
