February Film Fest: Africa Magic Unveils 20 Blockbusters Throughout ‘Month of Love’

Posted on February 5, 2024

Africa Magic is taking viewers on an intriguing cinematic journey with the rollout of a parade of 20 sensational box-office hits throughout February.

This cinematic spectacle will complement the ‘month of love’, unfolding exclusively on Africa Magic Showcase (ch. 151).

New cinema movies will premiere every Saturday and Sunday, and film enthusiasts can anticipate weekends filled with a melange of genres — including edge-of-your-seat thrillers, laugh-out-loud comedies, heartwarming dramas and much more.

Viewers even get to enjoy up to three movies on some weekends.

Dr Busola Tejumola, the Head of Content and Channels, West Africa, MultiChoice, noted that the Africa Magic team is always looking for new opportunities to showcase authentic African narratives, stating, “Our aim has always been to showcase the richness of African culture through compelling storytelling. With this curated selection of 20 blockbuster films, viewers can expect a dive into the different facets of our heritage, society and identity.”

The film fest, which began on February 2, continues on February 3 with ‘Special Assistant’ and ‘Kambili: The Whole 30 Yards’ at 4:25 and 7:00 PM, respectively. The following weekend sees an action overload with ‘Love Antidote’, ‘All That Glitters’, ‘Fate Of Alakada’ and more.

As the month unfolds, subsequent screenings will continue to delight audiences with riveting narratives and stellar performances until the time-travelling ‘Day of Destiny’ concludes the February Fiesta on Sunday, February 25, at 7 pm.

With the ongoing Step-Up offer, DStv subscribers can enjoy all these new titles on Africa Magic Showcase by upgrading their subscription to the next package and DStv will bump them up another package higher at no extra cost.

For example, if you upgrade from Confam to Compact, DStv will boost your subscription to Compact Plus for free.

Movie lovers can also catch the movies on the go via the DStv Stream app at no additional fee.

The app is available for download from the Apple and Google Play stores.
