A 26-year old lady, Okogba Priscillia, has been arrested and charged before a Court in Lagos for conspiracy and attempted murder by reportedly poisoning the food of a female Professor, Alexia Thomas, over a lover.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ahmed Onibudu in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Professor was said to have been in coma for several hours and was rushed to a hospital, where she was later revived.
Okogba Priscillia was charged alongside her other accomplice, Uche Ogbonnaya, and the man at the center of the whole thing, Emmanuel Anikwe, 27.
The Police did not state how the defendants trapped the victim and poisoned her food. But it was gathered that Priscillia had warned Professor Alexia Thomas to leave her lover, Emmanuel Enikwe, alone and threatened to kill her before the incident happened.
She was said to have conspired with her accomplice, poisoned the Professor’s food, which made her become unconscious and she was rushed to the hospital.
The matter was reported to the Police at IRT Squad, Ikeja, Lagos, and the suspects were arrested. They were later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
The defendants pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Nosa Watson, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove the matter.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 21t October, 2019.
