Female Sales Rep. Docked For Stealing Boss’ N10m Lace Cloths

A 30-year old lady sales representative, Ruka Mamud, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing N10m Lace cloths from her boss, Alhaja Adijat Foluke. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Agege Motor Road, Oshodi area of Lagos, where the shop is located and she was employed as sales representative.

 

According to the Police, the lady was employed as the sales representative to the complainant and within 1st August, 2024 and 27th December, 2024, she had already stolen the cloths to the tune of the said amount.

 

The matter got exposed after the complainant conducted an internal audit and discovered that the cloths were missing. The matter was reported to the Police at Akinpelu Division. The operatives moved into action, arrested the sales representative and detained her at the station for interrogation over the missing items.

 

After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charge read:

“That you, Ruka Mamud F, employed by on Alhaja Adijat Foluke “, as a sales representatives in her lace shop located at No. 376, Agege Motor Road, Oshodi, Lagos, between 1/8/2024 and 27/12/2024, in the Ikeja Magisterial district did steal the sum of N10,000,000 00 (Ten million Naira) property of one Alhaja Adijat Foluke ‘f’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, she pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
