A female teacher, Jacinta Adiele who allegedly inserted her finger into the private part of a 3-year old pupil in the school premises has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for sexual assault on the victim.
The arraignment followed the Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP, who facilitated her arraignment before Ogba Magistrates court.
The incident happened at a private school (name withheld) at Governor’s Road in Ikotun where Adiele was employed as teacher.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Adiele reportedly took the victim to one of the private rooms in the school compound and removed her pant and inserted her finger into her private part.
However, the matter was exposed when the victim’s mother observed stains of blood from her private part and asked her what happened to her.
The victim told her parents that her teacher, Adiele put her finger in her private part in the school.
The matter was reported to the school management and police at Ikotun division before the matter was transferred to police state command at Ikeja.
Adiele was arrested and charged to court.
However, the court referred the matter to DPP for advice.
Since then, the matter has been in the office of DPP.
However, the DPP advice came out and confirmed that Adiele has a case to answer.
She was recently charged to court before the presiding Magistrate, Mrs Davis Abegunde where she is facing trial of sexual molestation of the victim under the Criminal Code.
In the charged sheet sighted by P.M.EXPRESS and signed by Deputy Director, DPP, Mrs Adetutu Oshinusimus it was stated that Adiele allegedly inserted her finger into the victim’s private part thereby assaulted her in the school premises.
Adiele denied the allegation and pleaded not guilty before the court.
She was granted bail and the matter was further adjourned for trial.
