The global public relations and communications community is set to mark World PR Day 2025 on July 16, continuing a tradition that has grown exponentially since its inception in 2020.

This annual event unites PR professionals, agencies, associations, and thought leaders from over 65 countries across six continents, celebrating the vital role of public relations in shaping business, governance, and society.

World PR Day has become a landmark occasion in the industry calendar, with participation reaching over 18,000 professionals, 157 agencies, and 25 associations in 2024 alone.

Each year, the day serves as a platform to reflect on the profession’s impact, discuss emerging challenges, and set the agenda for the future of communications worldwide.

Ayẹni Adékúnlé, convener of World PR Day, remarked, “World PR Day was created to educate the public and business community on the value of PR and its benefits to democracy and society. Our goal is to set the agenda for the industry, celebrate our achievements, and chart a path for the future. The global participation and recognition we have seen so far are truly humbling.”

Since 2021, World PR Day has featured a dynamic mix of physical and virtual events, summits, conferences, and celebrations, with year-on-year growth in both reach and impact.

The event highlights the profession’s commitment to ethical practice, innovation, and building trust in an era of unprecedented change.

While the official theme and full details of global celebration activities for World PR Day 2025 were announced on June 16, 2025, early events are already underway in countries like Nigeria and Ghana, demonstrating the widespread engagement and enthusiasm for this year’s observance.

The theme for World PR Day 2025 is “Building Bridges & Navigating Polarisation”.

World PR Day 2025 will feature a diverse range of activities, including scheduled editorials, social media conversations, formal events, global recognitions, seminars, debates, and workshops.

These events aim to foster dialogue, advance ethical practices, and highlight the transformative power of effective communication.

World PR Day 2025 will be celebrated on July 16. Participants are encouraged to visit www.wprd.app and World PR Day’s social media pages for updates and to learn how to get involved.

As the world continues to navigate rapid technological, social, and economic transformation, World PR Day remains a rallying point for the profession, championing the positive power of PR and its enduring relevance in building better businesses, communities, and societies.
