Another political tsunami has terrified candidates and supporters of different political parties in Anambra Central Senatorial District as a grassroots and heavyweight politician, Hon. Charles Odedo, publicly declared support for Senator Uche Ekwunife’s re-election bid.

Speaking on Saturday, June 11, 2022 during the Anambra Central PDP Stakeholders meeting convened at the behest of the federal lawmaker, Hon. Odedo lavished encomiums on Ekwunife, describing her as an extraordinary performer who has outperformed some governors in the aspect of service delivery. He noted that every community in the zone has at least a project courtesy of the legislative sageness of the Senator.

On the reason why he rejoined PDP, Hon. Odedo who is certainly not a stranger in the Anambra state political landscape expressed that the quintessential lawmaker has a deep-seated hunger for topnotch representation, adding that he has long made up his mind to queue behind the senator to ensure she returns to National Assembly come 2023.

“Re-electing Ekwunife to represent the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly is a huge privilege and one of the surest ways Anambra State and South East region will get into the leadership of the Senate”, he noted.

Speaking further, the former lawmaker narrated that Ekwunife’s excellent leadership qualities came to fore when she became the leader of the Anambra state House of Representatives caucus in the 7th Assembly. According to him, the grassroots-friendly lawmaker is an empathic and selfless leader who led her colleagues very well.

Odedo who represented Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, described Ekwunife’s stint as the caucus leader of the members of the House of Representatives from Anambra State as one that revealed her as a people-centred individual. He stated that his return to PDP was timely because the 8 months politicking cycle would afford him and other stakeholders the opportunity to deliver Idemili North and South LGAs to Ekwunife.
