BELLO AKINKUNMI YAKUB

Barely a month into his second term as Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku has reaffirmed his reputation as a visionary administrator and pragmatic technocrat with the rare ability to translate plans into action.

Guided by his HEYSRELOADED Agenda, he has hit the ground running, recording notable milestones across multiple sectors that speak to his commitment to inclusive growth, sustainable development, and quality grassroots governance.

*Human Capital Development: Empowering The People*

Hon. Odunmbaku has placed human capital at the heart of his governance strategy. Through a partnership with Honey Treat Academy, the council rolled out vocational training in practical trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electricals, welding, painting, masonry, and tiling—empowering 15 residents with the tools to become self-reliant entrepreneurs.

He has also positioned 60 Ojodu youth for relevance in the global digital economy by launching intensive training in tech-driven skills including UI/UX design, data science, digital marketing and artificial intelligence. Additionally, his administration introduced innovative agricultural training in collaboration with Soilless Farm Lab, equipping 18 youths with modern hydroponics and soilless farming techniques to enhance food security and employment opportunities.

*Infrastructure Renewal: Building A Modern Ojodu LCDA*

Within just one month, Odunmbaku has ensured visible progress on critical infrastructure. The Secretariat Complex is nearing completion (90%), complemented by a new chapel, mosque, and magistrate court to promote service efficiency and inclusivity.

On roads and connectivity, his administration advanced the construction of Adeniyi-Oke Road with a strategic bridge link to Adeshina Street, while Odunmbaku Street in Akiode is already 75% completed. Work has also intensified on Bakare Street, ensuring better access to the Akiode Primary Health Centre. Market redevelopment is equally underway, with Eweoboja Market in Aguda being remodeled into a modern, solar-powered retail hub designed to boost local commerce and economic growth.

*Healthcare and Environment: Protecting Lives And Communities*

Healthcare delivery has seen rapid upgrades. The Gbadamosi Primary Health Centre reconstruction has reached 70% completion, while and Okeira Powerline Primary Health Centres stand at 90%. Beyond infrastructure, the council successfully treated 40 patients in its free “See A Doctor” surgery programme, covering procedures ranging from fibroid removal to hernia repair, ensuring access to quality healthcare for vulnerable residents.

On the environment, Hon. Odunmbaku sustained the canal channelization project from Murhi International to Yakoyo Underbridge, a critical intervention to prevent flooding, safeguard lives, and preserve public infrastructure.

*Education and Institutional Strengthening: Investing In The Future*

Recognizing education as a tool for liberation, the administration distributed 250 GCE forms to indigent students and provided free preparatory coaching—giving disadvantaged learners a fair chance at academic success.

To further entrench good governance, Ojodu LCDA legislators were enrolled in a workshop at ASCON, Badagry, where they gained fresh insights on modern legislative practices and effective oversight.

*An Administrator Who Hits The Ground Running*

In only one month, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku has shown a rare blend of vision, competence and compassion. His swift delivery of tangible results across education, health, infrastructure, environment, and youth empowerment demonstrates that his second term will not just be about-face continuity but about raising the bar of grassroots governance.

With the *HEYSRELOADED Agenda* as his compass, the future of Ojodu LCDA is being charted with purpose and precision. Odunmbaku has proven that governance, when driven by technocratic capacity and genuine commitment to the people, can transform communities in record time.

Ojodu LCDA residents can be confident: under his leadership, the march toward progress has only just begun.
