Housewife, 33, Sent To Prison For Spitting On Neighbour’s Face During Squabble

A 33-year old woman, Mrs. Amaka Ajare, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly assaulting her neighbour, Mrs. Anthonia Ibeh, by spitting on her face and pushing her inside a gutter during a squabble. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Association Avenue, Ejigbo area of Lagos, where they reside.
The Police alleged the suspect assaulted the victim while they were exchanging words in their compound over an undisclosed matter and in the process,  Amaka spat on her, pushed inside the gutter and she sustained an injury.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ejigbo Division. Amaka was arrested and consequently charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
But she pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor,  Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.A. Ariyo, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The matter was adjourned till 13th October, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
