The apprentice, Ebhoze, whose resides at No. 14, Okeowo, Off Oka-Omo Street, Alapere- Ketu, Lagos, risks several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment if found guilty before the Court.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Donjour Perezi, told the Court that Ebhoze committed the offence at about 12 noon at Oja-Omo Street. Alapere, Ketu, Lagos where the victim’s father’s shop is located.
He explained that the victim was sent home from school by the management to get some items and she went to her father’s shop to inform him but unfortunately she didn’t find her father in his workshop, but she saw the defendant, who is her father’s apprentice.
“He took her to a corner, covered her mouth and defiled her. He also threatened to kill her” Perezi said.
He said that the alleged offence contravened the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, who did not take Ebhoze’s plea, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional centre pending the outcome of the DPP’s legal advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
