It was a black Friday in Umuchu town, Aguata Local Government area of Anambra State, as a Lagos based business man, Vincent Ezeoguine, who travelled to his home town to celebrate the Christmas and New Year, was shot dead by unknown gunmen in a dastardly manner.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the men not only murdered the late Ezeoguine at the petrol filling Station, they also shot sporadically before they eventually kidnapped their target and escaped to unknown destination.
An eye witness, who spoke to P.M.EXPRESS, stated that the armed men came to Umuchu for the mission and were initially seen controlling traffic along Uga/Umuchu while waiting for their target.
When they eventually trailed and caught their target, they abducted him and were escaping with their two vehicles when the late Ezeoguine was said to have raised alarm. The gunmen were said to have shot him directly on his chest and he died on the spot in pool of his blood.
The manner the gunmen were said to have operated according to the witnesses gave suspicion the men may have come to Umuchu town for special mission over failed business transaction, which took place in Lagos.
They just killed the late Ezeoguine but did not rob him or cart away his Honda Pilot, which was recovered at the petrol filling station, ruling out the possibility that they were armed robbers.
Ezeoguine’s corpse was later recovered and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report as the Police were said to have commenced investigation to arrest those behind the murder.
