How Lady, 36, Arranged With Robbers To Steal $5000 Dollars Kept Inside Man’s House

A man, Babajide Anthony Alao, has lost a whopping sum of $5000 Canadian Dollars, equivalent of  N5.2m, five jackets and an international passport kept in his house to a lady who allegedly arranged with robbers to steal the items in Lagos State. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the 36-year old lady, Yetunde Alao has been arrested and charged for conspiracy and stealing.

 

The incident happened on 2nd June, 2024, at Prince Akeem Balogun Street,  Pipeline Bus Stop, Idimu area of Lagos, where the victim, Mr. Alao, kept the items.

The Police however, did not state the relationship between the suspect and complainant and how she managed to have access to the items.

 

When the matter was reported to the Police at Idimu Division, the suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct.

 

After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and charged her on a two-count of conspiracy and stealing before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court.

 

The Police Prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, told the Court that the defendant and others still at large committed the alleged offences on June 2, at Akeem Balogun Street, Idimu, Lagos.

According to him, the defendant allegedly stole a cash sum of $5,006 Canadian dollars, equivalent of N5.2 million, five Jackets worth N500,000 and an international passport, belonging to one Mr Anthony Alao.
He told the Ccourt that the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

She pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Miss K. A. Ariyo, granted her bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned till 2nd July, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
