How Robber Employed By Company As Security Guard Carted Away N3m Property & Escaped

A company, Blend Optimized Solutions, has wrongly employed a habitual criminal, Akinbori Gboye Emmanuel, as night security guard in. Lagos State as he looted and carted away the company’s property worth N3m and escaped.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 12th June ,2023, at Oredapo Street, Shasha area of Lagos, where the company is located and Emmanuel was employed as security guard.
Among the items Emmanuel reportedly stole included the company’s shuttle bus, laptop, printer and other items belonging to the company.
According to the Police, the suspect, Emmanuel, applied to the company to work as a security guard and he got employed unknown to the company that he was a criminal, who wanted to use the opportunity to rob the company.
He reportedly broke into the company’s office at night, carted away the items, loaded them into a bus parked inside the company and escaped.
The management came to work in the morning only to discover that the office was burgled and the items stolen. They checked through the CCTV and discovered that it was Emmanuel that did it.
The matter was reported to the Police at Shasha Division. Emmanuel was trailed, eventually arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
He admitted to have been done so and informed the Police that he sold the items including the bus online and does not know the addresses of the buyers.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before Ejigbo Magistrate Court for stealing.
He pleaded guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a short date to enable him to present the facts of the case so that he will be sentenced accordingly to serve as deterrent to others who might want to commit similar crimes in future.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu, ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, till 15th August, 2023, for facts and sentence.
