Inside UBA Topshot, Ramon Nasir’s Mom’s Grand Funeral Party

It was Agatha Christie who once wrote: ”A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dates all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.”

For Madam Musiliat Amoke Falade, she was a one in a million whose love and care has guided her beloved son who is the Group Head, Media and External Relations, UBA Plc, Ramon Olanrewaju Nasir to becoming who he is today.So, when such a beloved mother passes away, nothing must be spared to make her last journey home as grandiose as possible.

The deceased died on Thursday, 25 July at Duchess International Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, and was buried on Friday, 26 July at her residence at Oredola Estate, Okepadi, Ado-Odo, Ogun State, according Muslim rites.

But on Friday 7 September, the sleepy Ado-Odo roared to life and became a mecca of sorts as top political stakeholders, captains of industries, media heavyweights, monarchs and socialites gathered for the final funeral party of the mother of the UBA top shot amidst pomp and glee.

It was indeed a day of tributes as these heavyweights gathered to pay their last respect and accorded the worthy Iya Oba of Imasayi Kingdom, Ogun State a befitting grand goodbye.

Of course, nothing less was expected of the Ogun State-born public relations expert and a detribalised Nigerian whose circle of friends cuts across who-is-who in high society, including captains of industry, monarchs, politicians, socialites, journalists and celebrities that he has built over the years.

With a modest display of wealth, the funeral of the Octogenarian had the trappings of a festival at the Alamuwa Grammar School venue of the party with guests having a helluva time. The party was upscale and finest in all ramifications.

As Ramon showcased that it was obvious he has a commanding sense of hospitality.

The foods were incredibly rich with an endless flow of premium drinks available for the guests who were entertained by Juju music star, Tolu Obey while star compere, Gbenga Adeyinka and Feyikemi Niyi-Olayinka anchored the memorable funeral party.
