Two lovers, one Uwakwe David and Gift Akpata threw decency to the wind and engaged in a public fight in Lagos after the man was said to have jilted her and she destroyed his house properties as revenge.
They were arrested by the police, later charged before court and were remanded in prison custody for breach of public peace.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Abeokuta Street in Anifowoshe area of Ikeja, Lagos.
Gift was also charged for destruction of David’s properties including plasma TV, air conditioners, fans, gas cylinder and others. She was said to have damaged the items beyond repair and ran away before David eventually met her later on the street and a fight ensued in public.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the cause of the damages and fight was the decision by David to quit the relationship and asked Gift to leave. An embittered Gift then ensured that she destroyed the whole properties as revenge which landed both of them in trouble.
They were apprehended by the police and charged before Ogba Magistrates court for the alleged offence.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Christopher John, did not oppose their being granted bail.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, granted them bail in the sum N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 19th February, 2019.
