Jumac Company Worker Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing Company’s N10m Products

A 24-year old worker at Jumac International Company Limited, Ogbodu Efe Richard, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing the company’s products worth N10m. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at company’s office located at Kudirat Abiola Way. Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos, where the suspect, Richard was employed by the owner, Uzuh James.

 

According to the Police, the suspect conspired with others at large, between 2024 and March, 2025 and stole bags of plastic buckets valued the amount in question.

 

However, the management later discovered that he was behind the missing items and he was subsequently reported to the Police at Ikeja Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the alleged theft.

 

After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

“That you, Ogbodu Efe Richard ‘M’ and others at large, between the year 2024 and March, 2025 at Jumac International Company Limited Located at 986 Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, in the Ikeja – Magisterial district, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 411 of the criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015. ”

 

COUNT II: “That you, Ogbodu Efe Richard, on same date and place in the aforesaid Magistrate district, did steal bags of plastic buckets valued Ten Million Naira (N10,000, 000.00), property of your Employer, one UZUH JAMES M’ owner of J Jumac International Company Limited and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
