Lady, 25, Docked For Stealing Boy, 5, Inside School

A 25-year old lady, Funmilayo Bakare, has landed in trouble after he went to a school in Lagos State to steal a 5-year old boy, David Adegoke, in order to sell him to willing buyers. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Funmilayo Bakare, has been arrested over her alleged conduct.
The incident happened at Sandra Comprehensive School located at Arigbanle Street, Suberu-Oje area of Alagbado, Lagos.
According to Police sources, the suspect allegedly went to the school in the afternoon, lured the boy and was taking him away to an unknown place before she was caught and held to explain where she was taking the boy to, which she was unable to do.
The School Management contacted the Police at Alagbado Division; she was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found her culpable for stealing the boy with plans to sell him to an undisclosed buyer, who is now at large.
The Police subsequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, she pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 11th December, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
