Lady, 26, Docked For Stabbing Another Lady’s Eye With Bottle During Public Fight

A 26-year old lady, Adebanwo Temiwunmi, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly inflicting injury on another lady, Helen Oyelakin, by using a bottle to stab her eye during a public fighting.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the victim’s eye was said to have been completely damaged to the extent that she cannot see with her right eye because of the injury caused by the attack.
The incident happened at Alhaji Salawu Street, Olodi Apapa area of Lagos, where they reside.
The cause of the fight was not disclosed by the Police who alleged that the suspect caused the victim grievous harm by using the bottle to stab the right eye and damaged it.
When the matter was reported to the Police, she was arrested and charged before the Ajegunle Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor,  Inspector O.M. Anim, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. T.B. Are, granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
