Lady, 26, Sent To Prison For Smashing Woman’s Head During Squabble

A 26-year old lady,  Gift Edmond, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly inflicting an injury on a woman, Ifeoma Michael, by smashing her head with an object during a squabble. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Akinrinola Street in Oko-Odo area of Lagos, where they reside.
The Police however, did not disclose the cause of the fight between the two but alleged that the suspect, Gift, used an object and hit the complainant on the head and inflicted injury on her.
The matter was reported to the Police at Oko-Odo Division. The suspect, Gift Edmond, was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before to Court for the alleged offence.
She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned before the Ogba Magistrate Court.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since the defendant pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, granted her bail in the sum N100,000 with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 2nd July, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
