Lady, 33, Docked For Stealing N2m Clothes At Shop

A 33-year old lady, Franca Friday Nzan, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing, human hair and Children’s clothes worth over N2m inside a shop at the market.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened this December, 2024 at Tegbabo Akintola Street, Off Oleyl Streeet, Abule-Egba, Lagos.
According to the Police, the lady stole the items, was caught and the matter was reported to the Police at Oko-Oba Division. She was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found her culpable and charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Franca Friday Nzan, F’ that on the day of December 2024 at about 14:20 hrs at No 18 Tegbabo Akintola Street, Off Oley street, Abule-Feba, Lagos in Ikeja Magisterial District, did steal one human hair and children wears valued N2,000,000 [Two Million Nairal properties of Gifts Ihesiabah “F” and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
Count 2:”That you, Franca Friday Nzan ‘F’ on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 168 (D) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kasanu, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
