Lady, 38, Arraigned For Slicing Rival’s Face With Razor Blade During Public Brawl

A 38-year old lady, Chioma Okafor, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly biting and slicing the face of her rival, Mfom-Obong Ndifreke Akpan, with  razor blade.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 25th October, 2025, at Ojoola Street, Ejigbo, Lagos.

 

According to the Police, the lady and the complainant had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter which led to exchange of words and degenerated to fighting in the public.

During the fight, the suspect subdued the complainant by biting and using razor blade to inflict injuries on her face.

 

She was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital while the matter was reported to the Police at Ejigbo Division. The Police arrested and detained her at the station for interrogation over her conduct.

 

The Police found her culpable after interrogation and charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

“That you, Chioma Okafor ‘f, on the 25th day of October 2025 at about 0900hrs, at No 36, Ojoola Street, Ejigbo, Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by causing nuisances in a public place and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168 (d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

Count II:”That you, Chioma Okafor ‘f, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did unlawfully assault one Mfom-Obong Ndifreke Akpan ‘f’ by using razor blade to give her injury on her face and also gave her human bite on her right shoulder, which caused her bodily harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 173 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

She pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor,  Inspector Simeon Njue, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. F.R. Ogunkoyede, granted her bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned till 20th November,2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
