Lagos Calls On Individuals, Philanthropists To Partner LASHMA On Ilera Eko

Posted on April 1, 2022

The Lagos State Government has called on prominent individuals, Philanthropists Politicians and Corporate Organisations to partner with the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) and enrol the less privileged on ILERA EKO.

The General Manager, LASHMA, Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, who made the call at the presentation of ILERA EKO ID cards to 70 residents in Lagos Mainland in commemoration of the 70th Birthday anniversary of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Yaba LCDA, said that despite the fact that ILERA EKO is affordable many Lagos residents could not afford to pay the premium due to the economic problem in the country.

Commending the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Omodaada Foundation, Mr. Omoniyi Dada, the Convener of the ‘Free Health Insurance 2022’ for the laudable and kind gesture to the people, Dr. Zamba noted that the State Government alone cannot bear the financial burden of paying the premium of the less privileged, hence the need to solicit the assistance of influential people at home and abroad.

She applauded the political leaders in Lagos Central Senatorial District, especially Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for ensuring that residents live a healthy life, adding that her various empowerment programmes, including the enrolment of residents of ILERA EKO, have continued to bring succour to beneficiaries and their families.

Dr. Zamba appealed to other politicians in the State to emulate Senator Tinubu and enrol their families, friends, well-wishers, staff and community members on ILERA EKO towards guaranteeing their good health while reducing the payment of their out-of-pocket medical bills.

The LASHMA boss listed the benefits of ILERA EKO to include treatment of ailments such as malaria, typhoid, hypertension, diabetes, asthma, childhood illnesses, prescription of eyeglasses, dental care, family planning services, child delivery including caesarean section, care of newborn babies, pharmaceutical services, specialist consultations as well as surgeries such as herniorrhaphy and appendectomy.

She, therefore, appealed to the beneficiaries not to hesitate to call ILERA EKO Customer Service numbers on 0800-ASKLASHMA (0800-275527462) or 0700-ILERAEKO (0700-45372356) for clarifications during visits to hospitals, adding that they could also send WhatsApp messages to 07045358275 or 07046160051.

The Chief Executive of Omodaada Foundation, Mr. Omoniyi Dada, earlier in his welcome address, commended the Lagos State Government for its determination and dedication to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and ensuring that residents in the State live a good life.

He encouraged beneficiaries of the Free Health Insurance 2022 to take full advantage of the benefits to be enjoyed under ILERA EKO.

Dada advised that they should also take their health as a priority, while imploring them to desist from self-medication but, instead, visit the hospitals of choice whenever they are unwell as LASHMA does not limit the number of visits to the hospitals.

Dignitaries in attendance included the representative of the Executive Chairman, Yaba LCDA/Chief of Staff, Yaba LCDA, Mr. Olanrewaju Ilori; former Chairman, Lagos Mainland LGA, Otunba Adetayo Oyemade; Chairman, Community Development Committee (CDC), Yaba LCDA, Mr. Adeboye Odunsi; representative of the Education Secretary, Yaba LCDA, Mr. Yusuf Asiwaju and Chairman of all Ward Chairmen, Yaba LCDA, Chief Kayode Bamidele.
