The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, has been honoured with the Leadership Award in the Promotion of Lagos Cultural Heritage at the 2025 Lagos-Ikeja City Awards.
The award, presented recently, celebrates Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka’s exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and sustained efforts in preserving and promoting the rich cultural legacy of Lagos State.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Commissioner was the Deputy Director of Public Affairs in the Ministry, Adeoti Sobowale. She accepted the certificate during the 16th-anniversary edition of the prestigious annual event.

The award certificate, signed by Sola Olugbemiro, President of the Lagos-Ikeja City Awards, and Mercy Olufisoye, General Secretary, acknowledges Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka’s impactful contributions to cultural development, community engagement, and her strategic role in positioning Lagos as a thriving cultural hub on the global stage.
