Lagos Set To Host Women Run On Saturday

The 4th edition of Lagos Women Run supported by the Lagos State Government is holding on Saturday 9 November, 2019 with 13,000 female runners expected to participate.

According to the Chief Coordinator of the Run, Tayo Popoola, all the logistics to make this year’s event a success has been put in place by  the Lagos State Sports Commission.

A statement from Titi Oshodi-Eko, the Director, Public Affairs of Lagos State Sports Commission Thursday evening quoted Ms. Popoola to have said that the prize money for this year event has increased to 750,000  from 500,000 last year due to more sponsors participation.

“Lagos women Run is not just running for good health alone, participants are also running to know the various monuments and tourist sites within the 10km that the Run covers” she said.

Popoola added that it is not just about winning but just find a way to cross the line.

Meanwhile, Women Run Ambassadors and Volunteers had a one day training on Wednesday, 6th October at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.
