Lagos Speaker, Obasa Bestows Assembly Merit Award On Hon. Kasunmu

Vibrant and ranking lawmaker, representing Ikeja Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedemola Richard Kasunmu (ARK), was recently honoured with a prestigious Merit Award by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa. 
The enigmatic lawmaker was presented with the Lagos State House of Assembly Meritorious Award just as the 9th Assembly winds down.
According to the Certificate of Meritorious Award personally signed and presented by the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dr. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, the award was conferred on Hon. Kasunmu  in recognition of his “dedicated services to the people and Government of Lagos State as a Parliamentarian from year 2015 to 2023”.
Hon. Kasunmu was first elected to the State House of Assembly in 2015 and was re-elected for a second term in 2019. He won another re-election for his 3rd term with popular support from his constituents in the recently concluded 2023 General Elections and will be sworn-in as a ranking member of  the 10th Assembly on the 6th of June, 2023.
Reacting to the award, Hon. Kasunmu  expressed immense gratitude to his Leader, the Speaking Speaker of Lagos State, Rt.Hon. Mudashiru Obasa for the award, he also commended him for his uncommon leadership qualities, describing  the award as a tonic and energizer to serve better.
In December 2019, he was honoured with the *”Lagos State House of Assembly Chapel’s Excellency Award”*, having presided over a colourful end-of-the-year Thanksgiving Service of the Assembly Chapel for that year.
Among other plethora of awards, Hon. Kasunmu has been decorated with the following laurels:
*Best Performing State Legislator of the Year 2016
*Most Vibrant Legislator of the Year 2017
*Best House Committee Chairman of the Year 2020
*Best Legislator of the year in SDG implementation- 2021
*Parliamentarian of the Year 2022 (State Category) and so many others
Noted for his constant, articulate and cerebral contributions on the floor of the house, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, (ARK) served as the Chairman, House Committee on Youth, Sports and Social Development in the 8th Assembly, he also served as the Chairman, House Committee on Lands in the outgoing 9th Assembly. He is expected to play vital legislative roles in the 10th Assembly.
