Lagos Squash Classics serves Off May 9

Lagos State International Squash Classics

The Lagos State International Squash Classics has been scheduled to hold from 9th-13th of May, 2023 at the Squash Court, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

While delivering his remarks at the press conference to herald the event, Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Oluwatoyin Gafaar highlighted that it’s a rankings classics and internationally recognized championships, giving youths the advantage of exhibiting what they know how to do best.

He said players are expected from other countries that are going to participate and give a good fight.

“We are going to have an exciting time with the players, especially with those foreign athletes in the world of squash.Squash is already a developed sport because it’s been played everywhere”.

Gafaar commended the Lagos State Squash Association for showing interest in sports development and giving youths the platform to showcase their skills at the crucial time.

The Chairman of Lagos State Squash Association, Tomi Falase, said preparations are ongoing for the straight knockouts of the 200 points international Lagos squash classics.

He said there are 24 draw programme for the male event and 16 draw for the female.

Champions in the male and female categories are going home with $12,000 and $6,000 respectively, coupled with ranking points.
