Legacy Volleyball Tourney: It’s Host Babes, Legacy Versus Offa In Female Final

Posted on November 24, 2022

Hosts, Legacy and Elite female team are through to the finals of the 2022 Legacy Volleyball Championship holding at the Indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Legacy’s three straight sets winning 3-0 (25-19,25-19,25-17) against Offa in the semi-final encounter set them up against Logistics Spikers in the final of the week-long tournament.

Legacy finished as first runners-up in the group phase before causing an upset in the last four. Their victory in the semi-finals saw them facing their major foes in the group stage to determine the title winners.

The resilient Elite team stole the show over Dynamics in a game that saw them losing two straight sets. Dynamics failed to capitalize on their dominance after winning first and second sets before Elite came from behind to shocked them 3-2(25-20,25-10,23-25-21,25,13-15).

The battle line has just begun as Elite will face the leaders of Group B, Offa, who defeated Legacy 3-0 (25-20,25-18,25-20) in the female final.

An elated Elite Coach, Fayomi Ayodeji, described the game as a collective effort from all the players and the technical crew for working towards instructions.

He said, ” It was almost looking like we lost all, as God will have His way, we came back from 2-0 down and won the match 3-2.

“I am very optimistic that we are going to win the final against our opponents. It is going to be explosive, but am not going to pre-empt anything, we are going to win the final”, said Elite female coach, Ayodeji.

Meanwhile, Lekki will slug it out with Offa in the third-place match and in the female event, Dynamics will find their ways to grab the consolation medal against the hosts team Legacy.
