Lekki Gardens Estate Staff Docked For Allegedly Stealing N.5m Cables

The Police at the Dolphin Estate Division, Dolphin, Ikoyi, Lagos have arrested one Tairu Damilola, a staff of Lekki Gardens Estate Limited and dragged him before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing copper cable wires valued at N500,000 during working hours.
Police alleged that nemesis caught up with the defendant at the estate company’s office located at Osborne Foreshore Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, as he made to pass through the office gate with a bag containing the cables.
The vigilant security men at the gate stopped him for a search and discovered the cables inside his bag and apprehended him. They later invited the Police to arrest him.
After investigation by Inspector Adeyi Onyenche and his team, the defendant, a resident of Oladipupo Oladimeji Street, Oke Aro, Ogun State was charged before the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court at the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court, Lagos Island on a count charge of stealing.
Police prosecuting Counsel, Reuben Solomon informed the Court in the charged marked P/53/2025 that the defendant committed the offence on 27, August, 2025 at the Lekki Gardens Estate Limited office in Ikoyi, Lagos.
He said the offence committed was punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge and Magistrate Mrs. N. Oseni Wahab granted him N100,000 bail with two surties in like sum.
