Lonely At The Top

Lonely at the Top by Asake should not have been a music track but a lamentation by lots of successful people in business in Nigeria.
I cannot listen to that music track without remembering my first meeting with Obi Cubana 2 years ago in Germany. The meeting lasted until 1am in the morning.
When I woke up around 6am to share the meeting minutes, he was awake, calling his business partners in Nigeria. That’s how lonely you will be when success knocks on your door. You have less free time for frivolities. It will always be “money” on your mind.
I was not surprised that he sleeps a little and works so hard. You can’t be on top of your career by sleeping more than 6 hours every day of the week.
Obi Cubana is not a regular businessman. He is a visionary and steadfast entrepreneur who forged an extraordinary path and built a remarkable legacy for the biggest club/lounge chain in Nigeria.
With unwavering determination and a relentless spirit, Obi Cubana transformed a mere idea into a thriving empire, setting the stage for countless copycats of similar ventures and forging a community of camaraderie.
Through countless late nights and tireless efforts, Obi Cubana turned challenges into opportunities, leaving an indelible mark on Nigeria’s hospitality industry.
His innovative approach, and unwavering commitment to service delivery propelled his club chain to new heights, offering not just an unforgettable experience but also empowering countless individuals with employment and growth.
Today, as I reminisce on our journey in Germany, which we could not continue due to exigencies, I salute his indomitable spirit and honour his remarkable journey from humble beginnings to unrivalled success.
The story of Obi Cubana reminds us that hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering belief in one’s dreams can indeed create history.
May his success story inspire others, and his legacy shines brightly in Nigeria’s entrepreneurial landscape.
