Police operatives from Ejigbo Division of the Lagos State Command have arrested a 23-year old man, Lateef Abubakar, for allegedly hiring hoodlums in Military uniforms to attack a lady, Sharon Obe, for denying him sex in a popular hotel in the state.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Okike Hotel, located along Ejigbo Ikotun Road by NNPC, Ejigbo area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect went to the hotel and engaged the complainant desiring a sex romp. She reportedly declined for undisclosed reasons because she knew him before then.
Her rejection was said to have angered the suspect, Abubakar, and he left only to come back with six suspected hoodlums in Military uniforms. They reportedly attacked the lady, Sharon and inflicted injury on her body with fist blows and equally damaged the furniture in the hotel before they escaped.
The matter was reported to the Police, who then trailed Abubakar, eventually arrested and detained him at the station for interrogation over his conduct.
During interrogation, he alleged that the lady, Sharon, had insulted him but did not state how she did so.
But the complainant alleged that he had wanted to sleep with her but she refused as she never liked his attitude towards her.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is found guilty.
When he was arraigned in Court, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.A. Ariyo, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and have addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 24th April, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
