A 23-year old man, Williams Joseph, has displayed his skills in sexual act on an Akwa Ibom State-born sex worker, Amanda Daniela, who gave him her ATM with the pin number and he withdrew N1.3m under the false pretence that he would get married to her in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at a popular hotel in Ikotun area of Lagos, where they met.

After agreeing on marriage, the suspect, Joseph, used part of her money to rent an apartment at Yusuf Olayinka Street, Egan area of the state, where they decided to reside and get married.

But the whole thing turned to scam after Joseph declined to continue with the marriage plans on the ground that she was a prostitute.
She then demanded for all her money, which he withdrew from her account to the tune of N1.3m but he refused and still gave her fake promises.

The matter was then reported to the Police at Ikotun Division and Joseph was arrested. He was later transferred to Area M Command, Idimu, Lagos for investigation.

During interrogation, Joseph admitted he withdrew the said money but he should be given time to pay her back because he had already spent the money.

He was subsequently charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for stealing under false pretense and he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, asked the Court to give a short date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, A.S. Okubule, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum; one of the sureties must be his parents or guardian.

He was remanded in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town in Lagos pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 2nd August, 2021, for mention.
