Man, 24, Arraigned For Penetrating Neighbour’s 2-Year Old Boy’s Anus

A 24-year old man, Chinedu Monday, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly penetrating his neighbour’s 2-year old boy’s anus and injuring him in the process. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 6th July, 2025, at Afisman Drive, Akinremi area of Anifowoshe, Ikeja, Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the victim’s mother reported to the Police that on 8th July, 2025, she left her son inside her room with her phone to watch cartoon while she went to fetch water. But on getting back, she heard her son crying profusely and saw him squatting while her sister carried him and she discovered blood coming out from his anus. It was discovered that it was the suspect that molested him and the matter was reported to the Police. He was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct against the victim.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Chinedu Monday ‘m’, on the 6th day of July, 2025, at about 2200hours, at No. 10, Afisman Drive, Akinremi, Anifowoshe – Ikeja, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually penetrate the anus of the victim ‘m’ 2years old and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos ate of Nigeria, 2015.”
The Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
