Man, 24, Arrested For Releasing Dog To Bite Rival During Public Brawl

A 24-year old man, Fisayo Isaac, has landed in trouble for allegedly releasing his wild dog to bite his rival, Azeez Ajayi and inflicted serious injury on his body during a public fight in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ikotun Market, where Isaac and Ajayi engaged in public squabble before the dog was released and it attacked Ajayi.
The Police at Ikotun Division have arrested Isaac and detained him at the station over the release of his dog, which inflicted injuries on the victim’s body during the attack.
It was gathered that the victim, Ajayi, engaged Isaac in public squabble over an undisclosed matter, which led to physical fighting between them. And during the fight, the dog was released and it joined Isaac and inflicted injuries on Ajayi and his phone equally got damaged in the process.
The matter was reported to the Police and Isaac was arrested for interrogation. After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable for deliberately releasing the dog to attack Ajayi.
He was subsequently charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.A. Ariyo, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.
The matter was adjourned till 16th March, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
