Man, 24, Lures Girl, 14, Into Sex By Fondling Her Breasts

A 24-year old man, Oyeola Olamide, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring a 14-year old girl into sex by fondling her breasts and getting her confused. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Olamide, has been arrested and charged for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The incident happened on 14th June, 2024, at Akinola Adedeji Street, Isuti, Igando area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim into his apartment, engaged her in a romance by touching her breasts, which got her confused before he removed her clothes and penetrated her.
He had allegedly deflowered her before she realized that she had lost her virginity and then reported what happened to her parents.
The matter was reported to the Police at Igando Division. The suspect was then arrested and detained at the station for the alleged offence.
During interrogation, he admitted to have slept with her but with her consent while the victim insisted that she did not consent to it as he lured her into it by fondling her breasts before she lost control.
The Police found him culpable because the victim is still a minor under the law and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The prosecutor,  Inspector John Iberedem, moved a motion and asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, did not grant the defendant bail. She rather ordered him to be remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice.
The matter was adjourned till 23th July, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
