Man, 25, Arrested For Circulating Fake Currencies With Powerful Charms

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 25-year old man, Sanusi Ahmed, for allegedly using his powerful charms to spend and circulate different counterfeit currencies before he was eventually caught.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Ahmed, resides at Sokoto Rima quarters in Katsina.
On 8th May, 2025, the Police received credible intelligence regarding his alleged involvement in financial crimes in the State. He was said to have successfully used the powerful charms, which he procured from an unknown place to deceive and defraud innocent people who patronized him.
The suspect was said to have seemed invincible and had escaped many arrests after he defrauded the victims with the fake currencies.
However, his invincibility came to an end when the Police invaded his house for a search. During the search, the Police officers recovered:345 pieces of counterfeit $100 US bills, 5 pieces of fake 10,000 CFA notes, 2 bottles containing suspected charms, 1 empty bottle of perfume and 1 white cloth with other items as exhibits.
This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, who stated that the suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, commended the Police officers involved in the operation and acknowledged the role of the community in supporting law enforcement.
The Police boss assured members of the public of the Command’s continued efforts to protect residents and maintain peace across Katsina State.
The Police also encouraged citizens to remain alert and report any suspicious activity in any area across the State and stated that the suspect will be charged before the Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
