Man, 26, Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing N250m From Boss

A 26-year old man, Jude Chukwujekwu, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing the sum of N250m belonging to his boss, Okwudili Anioke. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened between November 2024 and April, 2025 at Banjoko Street, Oshodi, Lagos.

 

According to the Police, the suspect stole the money bit by bit until the complainant suspected that money was missing, conducted an internal audit and discovered that the suspect has been stealing his money.

 

The matter was reported to the Police at SCID at Yaba. The suspect was arrested and detained at the SCID for interrogation over the alleged missing money.

 

The Police found him culpable after thorough interrogation and consequently charged him before the Yaba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

COUNT 1: “That you Chukwujekwu Jude ‘M’, and others now at large on or before November 2024, within the Lagos Magisterial district, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT 11: “That you, Chukwujekwu Jude ‘M’, and others now at large between the month of November 2024 and April, 2025 at No.27. Banjoko Street, Oshodi, Lagos in the aforementioned Magisterial district, did steal a total sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (N250,000,000.00) property of One Okwudili Anioke ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 (i)(a) and punishable under Section 287 (7) of the criminal law of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, he pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.I.O. Alaka, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
