A 27-year old man, Nwosu Chukwuemeka, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly attempting to seduce a lady, Akinsiku Titilayo, through WhatsApp messages but it backfired.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the lady, Titilayo, reported him to the Police, prompting his arrest and subsequently being charged for sexual harassment and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.

The incident happened on 8th April, 2025, at Egbeyemi Street, Ilupeju, Lagos.

Apart from the alleged sexual harassment, the suspect was said to have visited the complainant’s office and disrupted her activities, which led to his arrest by operatives from Ilupeju Police Division. He was detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

The Police found him culpable after interrogation and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

COUNT I: “That you, NWOSU CHUKWUEMEKA ‘M’ on the 8th of April, 2025, at Egbeyemi Street, Ilupeju, Lagos in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by sending offensive articles dealing with sexual harassment via WhatsApp to one AKINSIKU TITILAYO ‘F’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 150(1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”

COUNT II: “That you, NWOSU CHUKWUEMEKA ‘M’ on the same date, time and place at the aforementioned Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by going to AKINSIKU TITILAYO’S OFFICE to disrupt the activities and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

However,  he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
