Man, 29, Arrested For Luring Girl, 16, Into S*x

A 29-year old man, Semiu Jimoh, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly tricked a 16-year old girl and had sex with her having fondled her breasts and got her confused. 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Mukadam Street by Lanre Bus Stop, Igando area of Lagos, where they reside. 

The suspect, Jimoh, allegedly lured the girl into his apartment and tricked her into a sex romp having fondled her breasts to confuse her. 

The girl later realized herself and then raised alarm. She reported to her parents that she was raped by Jimoh. 

The alleged rape was later reported to the Police at Igando Division, who then trailed, arrested Jimoh and detained him for interrogation over the alleged rape. 

During interrogation, the suspect denied that it was not a case of rape; he said that he slept with her with her consent but the girl insisted that she was raped.

The Police found Jimoh culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.

When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor,  DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the allegation was a capital offence for the interest of justice. 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice while she directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP. 

The matter was adjourned till 4th May, 2022, for the report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
