P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at about 11pm at Ademeyi Street, Isheri area of Lagos, where they reside.
He has been arrested and charged before the Court for the alleged assault.
According to Police sources, trouble started after Owolabi reportedly had a disagreement with his wife, Kafayat, before they went to bed while the husband was alleged to have made attempts to sleep with her without properly sorting out the issue between them.
This caused a rift as the woman  reportedly refused and wanted to leave the room to elsewhere. The husband then got angry,  locked her inside the room, beat her mercilessly and used bunch of broom to inflict injury on her body before the neighbours forced the door open and rescued her.
The matter was reported to the Police at Isheri Division and the man, Owolabi, was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the alleged assault.
During interrogation, Owolabi reportedly told the Police that Kafayat was stubborn and that caused the fight because she refused him from touching her on that day.

However, he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie,, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
