A 30-year old man, Olalekan Thompson Olusunbomi, has landed in big trouble in Lagos after he reportedly used a knife to intimidate a 14-year old girl before engaging her in sex and was said to have done so for the past three years.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that he has been arrested.

The incident happened at Isheri Road, Ogba area of Lagos, where they reside, which left the molested girl traumatized for years now.

The Police alleged that the suspect had threatened the girl with a knife and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her by instilling fear that he would stab her to death if she tells anybody that he had been molesting her.

The girl was said to have become withdrawn and did not tell anybody what was happening until on 30th July, 2021, when she eventually opened up and informed her parents.

The matter was reported to the Police at Ikeja Division and the man was arrested. After interrogation and having been found culpable, he was subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates for the alleged offence, which attracts life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.

However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Layinka, ordered his remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned till 29th November, 2021, for the report of the DPP to be ready while the defendant will remain in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice in order to determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
