Man, 33, Remanded In Custody Over Anal S*x With Boy, 13

A 33-year old man, Ifeanyi Okorie, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly penetrating the anus of a 13-year boy in order to satisfy his sexual desires. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 13th October, 2024, at Iroko Close, Ayetoro area of Lagos, where they reside.

 

According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim to his apartment and forcefully engaged him in anal sex  which injured and damaged his anus.

 

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect was arrested. From there, he was transferred to the Police at Gender Section of the State Command for further interrogation over his alleged conduct.

 

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charge read:

That you, Ifeanyi Okorie ‘m’, on the 13th day of October 2024, at about 1400hours, at Iroko Close, Ayetoro, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assault the victim aged 13years old by making series of advancement on him and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 263(1) and (2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of 2015 Nigeria.”

 

COUNT II: That you, Ifeanyi Okorie ‘m’, on the 13th day of October 2024, at about 1400hours, at Iroko Close, Ayetoro, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually penetrate the anus of the victim without his consent and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following the motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when the DPP’s report will be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
