Man, 35, Arrested For Knocking Off Rival’s Teeth During Public Brawl

A 35-year old man, Emeka Vincent Ohalisi, has displayed his boxing skills in Lagos State by beating and knocking off the teeth of his rival, Daniel Nnanna, during a public brawl. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 12th February,2025, at Ohalisi Street, Igbede New-site, Ajangbadi Ojo, where they reside.
The actually cause of the fight between the suspect and the complainant was not disclosed by the Police. But the suspect was arrested and detained at the station at Ilembe Hausa Division for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
The victim was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment while the suspect was interrogated by the Police, who found him culpable for inflicting such injuries on the victim. They charged him before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charges read:
“That you, Emeke Vincent Ohalisi “M” on the 12th days of February, 2025 at about 1800hrs at Ohalisi Street, Igbede New-site, Ajangbadi Ojo, Lagos State, in the Ojo Magisterial District, did unlawfully inflict wound on one Daniel Nnanna “M”, by giving him fist blows on his mouth and knocking off two of his teeth in the process, which caused him bodily harm and permanent deformity and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 246 (a) of the criminal Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.”
Count II:”That you, Emeke Vincent Ohalisi “M” on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district, did unlawfully assault, one Daniel Nnanna (M) by giving him fist blows on his face and mouth and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 172 of the criminal Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.”
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M. Ogun, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while address will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
