Man, 35, Faces R*pe Charge For Sleeping With Lady, 24

A 35-year old man, Eniola Ibrahim, has landed in trouble in Lagos after he reportedly invited and slept with a 24-year old lady and was subsequently arrested for raping her.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Lateef Dosunmu Street, Ifako area of Gbagada, Lagos, where Ibrahim resides.

What transpired between Ibrahim and the lady was not disclosed by the Police, who alleged that Ibrahim on 6th June, 2021, raped her by penetrating her private part without her consent as alleged by the lady.

When the matter was reported to the Police in the area, Ibrahim was arrested and later transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for further investigation.

After investigation, the Police found his action culpable and then charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

The Court did not take Ibrahim’s plea after the Prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice due to the nature of the case.

The Presiding Magistrates, O.A. Layinka, ordered his remand in Correctional Centre pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP.

The matter was adjourned till a new date pending when the report of DPP’s advice which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
