Man, 39, Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing Company’s Cartons Of Wine Worth N10m

A 39-year old man, John Arije, has landed in trouble for allegedly stealing company’s cartons of wine worth N10m belonging to Coral Enterprises Nigeria Limited.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Arije, has been arrested and charged over his alleged conduct.
The incident happened on 2nd February, 2026 at Plot 10, Ikosi Road, Oregun, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect went where the items were kept, carted them away and escaped. The company later discovered that the items were stolen through an internal audit.
The matter was reported to the Police at Alausa Division and the suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the missing items.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you John Arije ‘M’ on the 2nd of February, 2026 at about 1432hrs at Plot 10, Ikosi Road, Oregun, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos in the Ogba Magisterial District, did steal 200 cartons of wines valued Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000.00) property of Coral Enterprises Nigeria Limited and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
