Man, 39, Arraigned For Selling Victim’s N8m Vehicle With Forged Documents

A 39-year old man, Samson Chukwuma, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing and selling N8m unregistered Nissan Serena space bus belonging to Chima Ekwuruke with forged documents. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Samson, has been charged for conspiracy and stealing over his alleged conduct against the complainant.
The incident happened in May 2025 at Coker Street, Off Idiagbon, Ifako, Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect and others at large forged the documents of the bus and sold it to an undisclosed buyer before the complainant realized what happened.
The matter was reported to the Police at Area G Command in Ogba. The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested and detained the suspect at the Command. While there, he reportedly admitted to have sold the vehicle with forged documents.
The Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read :
“That you, SAMSON CHUKWUMA “M” and others now at large sometime in the month of May 2025 at Coker Street, Off Idiagbon, Ifako, Lagos in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT II:” That you, SAMSON CHUKWUMA “M” and others now at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did fraudulently steal one unregistered Nissan Serena space bus valued N8,000,000 (Eight Million Naira) property of one Chima Ekwuruke “M” and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, SAMSON CHUKWUMA “M” and others now at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did forge the vehicle document of one unregistered Nissan Serena Space bus and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 365 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT IV:”That you, SAMSON CHUKWUMA “M” and others now at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did act in an indent manner by fraudulently taking registered Nissan Sienna Space with Reg. No. EKY 160 YL without the consent of the owner one Chima Ekwuruke “M” and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 134 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect his bail conditions.
