Man, 41, Docked For Swindling Doxxbet Company Of N8.5m Inside Hotel

A 41-year old man, Abdulsalam Saheed, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly swindling a gambling company,  Doxxbet Nigeria Limited, to the tune of N8.5m inside a hotel. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Grosis Hotel located at Okunola area of Egbeda, Lagos.
According to the Police,  on 30th July, 2024, the suspect went to the hotel where the money was kept, stole it without the knowledge of the company and escaped.
The Police did not state if the money was kept in a room or any other place before he had access to the money. But the alleged theft was reported to the Police at Idimu Division and he was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged stealing.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A. K. Dosumu-Uthman, granted him bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 20th August, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
