A 42-year old man, Uduak Asangasi, has been arrested in Lagos State for engaging a 13-year old girl in sex romp after brutalising her into submission.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ebun Street, Dopemu area of Agege, where they reside.
The suspect, Uduak, was alleged to have lured the girl into his apartment, locked the door from inside and then ordered her to remove her pants for the romp.
Initially, the girl was said to have refused before he assaulted her and eventually engaged her in the romp before allowing her to go having satisfied himself.
The girl later exposed him and the matter was reported to the Police in the area. He was arrested and then transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation over the conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready while she directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 20th December, 2022, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
