A 42-year old man, John Jester, has been arrested for allegedly defiling his 12-year old biological daughter.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Dorunsogo Street, Pako in Iyana Era area of Lagos, where they reside.

The Police alleged that the suspect, John, held her daughter down at night and forcefully defiled.

The dastardly act traumatized the daughter, who later exposed him, by informing his neighbours what she was going through and the matter was reported to the Police.

During interrogation, he reportedly denied and the matter was transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for further investigation.

After investigation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement which attracts life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty.

However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Mr. Raji Akeem, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. I.O. Adelaja, ordered his remand in Correctional Centre and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court over jurisdiction.
