A 42-year old man, Wasiu Lawal, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring a 17-year old girl into sex after fondling her breasts and getting her confused.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Lawal, has been arrested and charged over his alleged conduct.

The incident happened on 14th June, 2024, at Greenland Street, Shasha area of Lagos, where they reside.

According to the Police,  the suspect allegedly lured the victim into his apartment, used words of mouth to confuse her and also fondled her breasts, which got her more confused and he penetrated her in the process.

However, trouble started after the victim regained her senses and discovered that he had sexual intercourse with her. She became angry and raised alarm which attracted her parents attention.

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned till 9th August, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
