According to the Police,  the suspect started defiling the victim in 2023 and warned the victim not to tell anyone about it. He wanted to continue the dastardly act before the victim exposed him to her mother.
Thus, the matter was reported to the Police in the area. He was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The prosecutor,  Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for mention for the DPP’s legal advice on the matter because of the nature of the crime allegedly committed.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s legal advice and as well directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
